Sinigang na Hipon (Shrimp in Sour Broth) Sinigang or Sour Soup is a popular Filipino dish, which can be cooked using shrimps or prawns, fish, pork and even chicken. Ingredients: 250 grams shrimp or prawn 1 piece of onion, diced 1 clove garlic, minced 1 ginger, minced 1 piece of tomato, sliced 3 cups of water 1 Knorr cube (Shrimp flavour) 6 pieces green chillies 1 radish, sliced ½ pack Sinigang mix 3-4 stalks or 1 bundle of Water Spinach (Kangkong) A pinch of Magic Sarap A pinch of salt Cooking Direction: 1. In a large pot, add water and boil the garlic, ginger and onion for about 3 minutes. Add the shrimps and let it simmer for 5 more minutes. 2. Add the Knorr cube, followed by the other ingredients: chilli, radish, water spinach, and tomato. Leave it for about 3 minutes to ensure that every ingredient is well-cooked, but you should also check it momentarily to avoid over-cooking them. 3. By this time, it still doesn’t have the sour taste, so it’s already high time that you add the Sinigang mix, as well as a pinch of salt to add more zest. 4. add more Sinigang mix if you feel the need for it. 5. You can now serve the dish in a large bowl. You might want a separate small bowl for your sour soup alone, so you can really have a mouthful of its flavour. Note: This recipe is good for 4-5 persons. (I didn’t place everything in the picture.)
